Aniimo, the free-to-play creature-catching open-world RPG from Pawprint Studio, has locked in a Q3 2026 launch window, revealed alongside a new gameplay trailer at the Future Games Show today. The studio also lined up its next Global Closed Beta Test for this summer, with sign-ups open now at aniimo.com for a chance at access. Set in the world of Idyll, it casts players as Pathfinders who “twine” with the creatures known as Aniimo, taking on their forms to battle, travel, and explore through each one’s abilities. Twining also opens up the Aniimo’s own society, letting players in on the everyday habits and exchanges the creatures have built among themselves.

Most of what the trailer showed is bound for that beta, headlined by a new water-themed region called the Island of Peace, plus fresh Aniimo and evolved forms to track down. Home-building expands through the Homeland, the customizable base players reach via their RV moving base, which picks up more décor and Aniimo-themed options. New shops also open in the Astra area, including a blind box vendor and a clothing store carrying accessories.

On the multiplayer side, a PvP mode called Diamond Egg Heist sets up to six teams of three against each other to be the first to twine with a diamond egg, after which the holder’s team has to escort it to safety while the rest try to stop them. Co-op gets new boss challenges in Bubbask and Coraliz for groups to take down together. Players can now also trade Aniimo directly with one another.

At full launch in Q3 2026, Aniimo will be free-to-play on PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, Android, iOS, and PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store, a lineup that grew to add PlayStation 5 and the Epic Games Store earlier this year. Wishlisting is already open on PlayStation 5, XBOX, Steam, and the Epic Games Store, while the summer beta is narrower, limited to Android, iOS, and PC through Steam. Console players will be waiting for the full release to get in.
