Pawprint Studio is giving players another crack at Aniimo before launch, with the creature-catching open-world RPG kicking off its Global Closed Beta Test today, July 9. The beta is running on PC through both Steam and the standalone Aniimo launcher, as well as on Android and iOS, and it arrives alongside a new trailer showing off what this build has in store.

The headliner among the new Aniimo is Saucite, who gets featured in the trailer, while Bubbeep, Popapus, and Gachapus are waiting to be discovered in the beta itself. New forms are in the mix too, with Prismana forms for Panpanta and Dreaple appearing in the trailer and Sea of Flower forms for Budsquire and Thornblade hidden away in the test.

Pathfinders can also explore Crescent Bay, a new water-themed region, and spend their downtime in the Homeland decorating and growing crops. The social hub gets some attention as well, with the Nimbi delivery service now in action, new accessory and clothing stores, blind box building, and a sneak peek at the pet park. On the multiplayer side, the beta supports Aniimo exchanges between friends along with shared multiplayer modes and challenges.

If Aniimo hasn’t been on your radar, the free-to-play RPG has players exploring the world of Idyll, catching and bonding with creatures to discover their unique skills. As I noted when Aniimo added PlayStation 5 and the Epic Games Store to its launch lineup, it’s clearly chasing the Pokémon crowd, but the free-to-play model and open-world structure could help it carve out its own space. The game wrapped up its second closed beta earlier this year, making this the third round of testing ahead of release.

Aniimo launches in Q3 2026 on PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, mobile, and PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the XBOX app, plus Mac through the Mac App Store. Wishlists are live now on PlayStation 5, XBOX, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. With the launch window sitting inside the current quarter, the wait after this beta shouldn’t be a long one.
