Sega and Creative Assembly used Summer Game Fest 2026 to give Alien: Isolation 2 its first full trailer, more than a decade after the original survival horror game arrived. The reveal confirmed that the sequel is coming to PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC, with wishlists open now, though no release date or window was shared.
On stage, creative director Al Hope framed the project as Creative Assembly’s return to survival horror and an authentic new chapter built on the original’s core idea of evading a single, unkillable Alien. Art director Ana Sopikova confirmed a shift in setting: rather than the space station of the first game, this time the Alien is loose on an unsuspecting colony world. Beyond that new setting and the trailer footage, the studio did not detail any gameplay specifics.
The sequel has been a long time in the making, with Creative Assembly first confirming it was in development back in 2024 on the 10th anniversary of the 2014 original, then staying quiet until a brief teaser titled False Sense of Security surfaced this past April. The original Alien: Isolation was a first-person survival horror game inspired by the 1979 film, with this Summer Game Fest debut serving as the first proper look at its follow-up.
