IO Interactive has confirmed that 007 First Light will not launch simultaneously on Switch 2. The game will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on May 27, with the Switch 2 version arriving later this summer. The announcement was made on the game’s official X account, with the team saying it’s looking forward to bringing the best experience possible across all platforms.

No specific date was given for the Switch 2 release, just a vague “later this summer” window. It’s not uncommon for Switch versions to lag behind other platforms, but it’s still a bit of a bummer for anyone who was planning to play it on Switch 2 at launch.

Earlier today, PlayStation revealed a limited edition DualSense controller inspired by the game, featuring a golden finish and barrel design. That controller launches alongside the game on May 27, with preorders opening on April 17 at 7:00 AM Pacific (10:00 AM Eastern).

007 First Light is a standalone, reimagined origin story for James Bond, following a young Bond at the very beginning of his journey as he navigates a world of global intrigue and earns his codename. It’s the first James Bond game in over 13 years.
