The 2023 Steam Spring Sale is now live, running from March 16 to March 23. Gone are daily deals and flash sales (remember those?), which means we can compile a list of the best games and deals on day one. If you’re having a hard time figuring out how to spend your money during the Steam Spring Sale, below is a list of the 10 best games and deals we spotted.

Vampire Survivors

The discount may only be 20%, but Vampire Survivors is already really cheap to begin with. So if you want to save that whole dollar, you can get it for $3.99 during the Steam Spring Sale. Look, we’re only mentioning this game because we feel like everyone should experience it. The actual sales discount may not be that great, but the game is less than your fast food lunch. Just get it if you haven’t already.

Brotato

If you’ve already sunk all the hours you can into Vampire Survivors but want a similar-style game, check out Brotato. In Brotato, you play a potato wielding up to six weapons at a time while fighting off hordes of aliens. It’s also a great option if you just can’t get past the pixel-based art style of Vampire Survivors but want to see what all the hype is about with this new genre. Oh yeah, it’s also only $3.99.

Deep Rock Galactic

For $9.89, Deep Rock Galactic might offer you the best bang for the buck, especially if you have people to play it with. It’s a co-op FPS featuring four unique classes, destructible environments, procedurally-generated caves, and endless hordes of alien monsters. It’s just great co-op fun and the matchmaking works pretty well too, if you have no one to play with.

NieR: Automata

It’s on my list of the best games I’ve ever played and every chance I get to recommend it, I do. It’s currently 50% off which isn’t the greatest deal for a game that’s nearly six-years old, but it doesn’t go on sale very often on PC. If you still haven’t had a chance to pick it up, it’s well worth the $19.99 price tag. And no, you don’t have to play the Drakengard series or NieR Replicant to understand what’s going on.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

Now this is probably one of the best deals we’ve found during the Steam Spring Sale 2023. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is 90% off, bringing its price down to just $3.99. The game definitely has its fair share of issues, but it is undoubtedly the best Star Wars game we have gotten in years. It’s a great time to pick it up, since its sequel, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is releasing on April 28.

Ori: The Collection

Here’s another really great deal. You can get Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition and Ori and the Will of the Wisps for just $9.88. That’s 80% off the bundle and you’ll get two fantastic games from developer Moon Studios.

Monster Train

At $4.99, Monster Train is an absolute must-have if you don’t already own it — that is if you like roguelike deckbuilding card games similar to Slay the Spire. I have sunk dozens of hours into Monster Train and I found it to be a much more enjoyable experience overall than Slay the Spire. It has some cool concepts, tons of things to unlock, and some really fun builds you can stumble into while playing.

Yakuza 0

There are so many Yakuza games to check out now, and if you’re new to the series, Yakuza 0 is the perfect starting point. Best of all, it’s 75% off during the Steam Spring Sale so you can grab it for just $4.99.

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous

If you’re looking for a modern CRPG to play, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is currently 70% off, making its standard edition $14.99. The Mythic Edition is $29.67 and the Commander Edition is $20.98 — all are 70% off their normal price.

Tomb Raider (2013)

If for some real strange reason you still don’t own 2013’s Tomb Raider — it was free on the Epic Games Store — now is the time to pick it up and play through it. The reboot of the franchise may now be 10-years old and there are two more games you’ll want to play after this one, but at $2.24 (85% off) it’s one of the best deals around.
