Dying Light: The Beast is getting a last-minute delay. Originally set to launch on August 22, 2025, it now has a release date of September 19, Techland announced. The decision likely comes from media previews published this past week, and while overall sentiment is positive, the coverage also provided feedback on areas for improvement. As a result, the release date was moved by a few weeks to allow for extra polishing work. The team stated that it will focus on fine-tuning the balance of gameplay elements, improving UI clarity, increasing physics quality, and tweaking cutscenes and player animations.
First announced in August 2024, Dying Light: The Beast sees the return of Kyle Crane, the protagonist from the original Dying Light. Those who purchased Dying Light 2 Stay Human Ultimate Edition get this standalone entry for free, since it essentially replaces DLC that was cancelled for Dying Light 2 Stay Human. Based on the previews, Dying Light: The Beast really feels like Dying Light 3 and its price reflects that at $59.99. The game will be set in Castor Woods, and players once again step into the shoes of Kyle Crane, who can switch between man and monster.
We’re really looking forward to Dying Light: The Beast. The first game was a pleasant surprise and one of the most fun co-op experiences we’ve ever had within the genre, but we found its sequel terribly disappointing. We hope Dying Light: The Beast returns to form, and if it takes a bit more time before that happens, we’ll happily wait.
