The original Dying Light and its DLC, The Following, were two of our biggest surprises in 2015 and 2016, respectively. More notably, Dying Light offered such a fun co-op adventure that we were a bit shocked at how disappointing its sequel, Dying Light 2, was when we finally got around to it in February 2023. Because of that, we’re a bit cautious in what to expect from Dying Light: The Beast—with Kyle Crane returning, we’re hoping it’s more Dying Light than Dying Light 2.
Officially launching on August 22, Dying Light: The Beast will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Praised as the “Hero of Harran,” Kyle Crane has become target number one for the Baron’s brutal experiments. After being used as a human guinea pig for over a decade, Crane finally breaks out, but he’s not yet free. It’s all about man vs. monster, as Crane fights to ensure his human DNA remains dominant while venturing into the Castor Woods.
Dying Light: The Beast will blend open-world freedom with atmospheric survival horror, brutal combat, and natural movement. Players will have to take on the Volatiles at night, but they’ll be armed with more movement skills than ever to navigate through Castor Woods.
