Today’s Xbox Partner Preview featured several debuts, including our first look at gameplay from Alan Wake 2: The Lake House, FBC: Firebreak from Remedy Entertainment, and a new teaser trailer for Subnautica 2. Today’s broadcast also provided a deeper look at Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, a dark fantasy game set in the late Ming Dynasty, launching in 2025. Below, you’ll find all the trailers and a short recap of each game that made an appearance at today’s Xbox Partner Preview.

Alan Wake 2: The Lake House

Today’s Xbox Partner Preview provided our first look at gameplay from the upcoming second expansion for Alan Wake 2, The Lake House. Set to release on October 22, The Lake House puts players into the shoes of FBC Agent Estevez, who is exploring the Lake House research station in Cauldron Lake. This expansion not only connects to Alan Wake 2, but it also connects to Control, Remedy’s other popular title.

Animal Well

Released earlier this year on PlayStation 5, Switch, and PC, Animal Well is launching on Xbox today. This indie Metroidvania has been one of the year’s biggest surprises and is trending as a dark horse Game of the Year candidate for some.

Blindfire

Blindfire is a first-person shooter set entirely in inky-black arenas, arriving as a bit of a surprise. It comes from the team at Double Eleven, premiering today with a shadow drop—it’s available in Game Preview right now. The fast-paced shooter is all about trusting your instincts and delivering a unique experience to a familiar genre.

Cronos: The New Dawn

Bloober Team continues to impress, following the recent Silent Hill 2 remake, and now we can look forward to Cronos: The New Dawn. It’s a third-person survival horror game set across two time periods: 1980s Communist Poland and a futuristic wasteland. Cronos: The New Dawn is set to arrive sometime next year.

Edens Zero

The popular manga and anime series Edens Zero is getting a third-person action game. Making its world premiere at the Xbox Partner Preview, the game has players take Shiki Granbell across the universe in search of Mother. Look for Edens Zero to launch in 2025.

Eternal Strands

Another 2025 title, Eternal Strands, shared a new trailer during today’s Xbox Partner Preview. This systemic action-RPG comes from Yellow Brick Games, a development team comprised of Dragon Age and Assassin’s Creed veterans. Set to launch on Game Pass day one, Eternal Strands looks to offer a unique magic system that allows players to combine spells, along with in-depth crafting systems and giant climbable bosses.

FBC: Firebreak

For some, the most exciting reveal today may have been FBC: Firebreak. It’s Remedy’s take on a first-person, multiplayer PvE game that’s a spin-off from Control. Players will have to work with one another in three-player co-op to take on the horrors of the Oldest House when FBC: Firebreak arrives in 2025. It’s Remedy’s first multiplayer game and it’ll launch day one on Game Pass. You can learn more about it here.

The Legend of Baboo

Ever wanted a brutal action-adventure game with an adorable dog? That’s exactly what The Legend of Baboo delivers, making its world premiere today at the Xbox Partner Preview. In it, players take control of the child hero Sepehr, joined by the gorgeous dog Baboo, as they set off across a magical island.

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii

Surprise! Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, which debuted last month, now has a new release date. Originally set to launch on February 27, 2025 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, the title is now launching on February 21, 2025. The over-the-top follow-up to this year’s Infinite Wealth, Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii follows ex-yakuza Goro Majima as he sets off on an entirely new adventure out on the pirate-ridden waters.

Mistfall Hunter

Mistfall Hunter aims to mix soulslike combat with an extraction game. Today’s announcement trailer showcased a third-person action PvPvE extraction RPG set in a dark, Nordic-inspired continent. The premise is interesting, with different classes to choose from and fast-paced, third-person combat. It’ll be interesting to see how this one shapes up from Bellring Games.

Mouse: P.I. For Hire

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Mouse: P.I. For Hire, but today we received a new trailer showcasing its old-school FPS gameplay with noir-inspired, classic cartoon aesthetics. The title comes from developer Fumi Games and is published by PlaySide, promising to combine the charm of hand-drawn rubber hose animation from 1930s cartoons with the adrenaline and action of a first-person shooter.

Phasmophobia

We loved Phasmophobia when it first entered Early Access on PC in 2020, and we’re excited that Xbox players can finally experience it on October 29, just in time for Halloween. The game has players join their friends as ghost hunters, setting off on missions in haunted locations to investigate, draw out, and survive ghostly encounters. It’s eerie, incredibly immersive, and can result in some hilarious moments depending on how cruel you want to be to your friends.

Subnautica 2

My highlight from today’s event was the Subnautica 2 teaser trailer. Having loved the first game, I’m excited for its sequel, especially with the addition of optional co-op for up to four players. The underwater survival-crafting game is set to launch into Xbox Game Preview on Xbox Series X|S and PC sometime in 2025.

Wheel World

Another day one release on Game Pass is Wheel World, previously known as Ghost Bike. Along with its new name, this exploration-racing game has a new trailer that better explains to players what they’ll be doing in Wheel World. Basically, Ghost Bikes can travel between the worlds of the living and the dead, and in Wheel World, players will retrieve and fix the last of these bikes. Look for this unique title to land in early 2025.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers

Announced earlier this year at Xbox Games Showcase 2024, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers received another showcase today. This dark fantasy game, set in the late Ming Dynasty, is yet another soulslike action-RPG that will be available day one on Xbox Game Pass in 2025. The game is in development by China’s Leenzee Games and is being published by 505 Games.
