It seems like the days of Xbox console exclusives are coming to an end, as the company has confirmed that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is heading to PlayStation 5 in spring 2025. Those who own an Xbox Series X|S or PC, however, can experience the adventure starting on December 9, and it will be available on day one through Game Pass. The latest trailer, debuting at gamescom Opening Night Live 2024, gave us a look at a story-driven section set in the Himalayas, as MachineGames shared footage of multiple locations and how various tools will function in the game. We also get a deeper look at combat, skills, and more.
Since this is an Indiana Jones title, it shouldn’t surprise fans that the game will be full of puzzles to solve, from mysteriously locked chambers to complex ancient mechanisms. The team also shared that while the game has a linear storyline, players will experience more open areas that include side characters, hidden secrets, rewards, and more. As for the tools at Indy’s disposal, they include his iconic bullwhip, a camera, a journal, a lighter, and the rest of what the world has to offer, from breakable bottles to a spear lying around.
The game also features a skill system, but it’s not in the form of a traditional skill tree. Instead, players will have to find hidden Skill Books throughout the world, each granting the ability to unlock a new skill, of which there will be dozens. To unlock the skills once the Skill Books are found, players will need to spend Adventure Points. These points are earned by doing all the things Indiana Jones would do, from taking photos to making discoveries.
Expect to hear more about Indiana Jones and the Great Circle in the coming months leading up to its Xbox and PC launch this December.
