Bungie is now readying Marathon’s launch, which is officially set for March 5 after getting a delay last year. It seems like that extra time has paid off, and Bungie is very confident in what it’s going to deliver because it’s hosting an open Server Slam preview weekend from February 26 to March 2 on PlayStation 5 and other platforms. That Server Slam will give players a chance to experience Marathon’s gameplay ahead of its official launch. The survival extraction FPS has players scavenging the lost colony of Tau Ceti as a bio-cybernetic Runner. Players can choose to take it on as a crew, go solo, or form alliances with proximity chat. No doubt, Marathon is a bit more confident thanks to the popularity of ARC Raiders.

In addition to announcing the Server Slam event, Bungie revealed some special awards for PlayStation Plus players. All PlayStation Plus members will be able to redeem three different weapon charms, each inspired by a different PlayStation-published title: Ghost of Yōtei (Onryō Weapon Charm), Death Stranding 2 (Battle Guitar Weapon Charm), and Helldivers 2 (For Freedom Weapon Charm).

The Server Slam will run from February 26 at 10:00 AM Pacific to March 2 at 10:00 AM Pacific, and it will offer two zones, Perimeter and Dire Marsh. Testers can take on the opening contracts for five of Marathon’s factions and try out all six Runner Shells, as well as Rook in scavenger mode. Those who like what they see can look forward to Season 1 of Marathon, which will add two additional zones in the form of Outpost and Cryo Archive, full contract and progression trees for all six factions, ranked mode, and more. Anyone who checks out the Server Slam will get a special emblem and player banner for launch, along with the opportunity to earn a tiered gear package that includes weapons, body implants, and more.
