During today’s Ryu Ga Gotoku (RGG) Studio Summit, the developer announced a complete remake of Yakuza 3 in the form of Yakuza Kiwami 3. The game will also be bundled with a brand-new tale of Yoshitaka Mine called Dark Ties. Though Dark Ties is a separate game, Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties will be sold together as a two-pack for $59.99, with a release date of February 11, 2026. It’ll be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 continues the story of Kazuma Kiryu and takes place on the streets of Okinawa and Tokyo. The remake also revamps combat and adds scenes to deliver more depth and emotion to the narrative. There will also be new and enhanced side quests, which the Like a Dragon and Yakuza series are famous for.

As for Dark Ties, it will be a darker story following Yoshitaka Mine, who once led a successful startup. After losing everything, he chooses to sink into the dark world of the yakuza as he tries to find true bonds to drive him forward. The dramatic story will focus on boxing-based combat and a range of side experiences. It will be up to the player to decide which game to play first, as RGG Studio executive producer Masayoshi Yokoyama did not have a recommendation.
