XBOX is marking its 25th anniversary with a new collection built around a translucent OG Green design, pulling directly from the look of the original XBOX console. The XBOX 25th anniversary collection pairs a limited edition XBOX Series X with a matching controller, both carrying subtle tributes to the brand’s history and a few hidden surprises for the community. It is one of several ways XBOX is celebrating 25 years, alongside the XBOX FanFest tour announced earlier this year.
The XBOX Series X25 Limited Edition (not to be confused with the ROG XBOX Ally X20) is the first translucent XBOX Series X, wrapping the standard hardware in the OG Green finish while keeping the full power and 1TB of storage of the regular console. On startup, the X lights up green as a callback to the original XBOX boot sequence, with the XBOX 25th Anniversary logo on the front alongside other touches referencing classic hardware. The rest of the design leans on details meant to celebrate XBOX’s history and the community that has stuck with it.
Joining the console is the XBOX Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition, also in translucent OG Green, with several callbacks to the original hardware. It uses the original ABXY colors and bumpers that honor the black and white buttons of the original Duke controller, while the fully transparent back case and battery door show off the classic XBOX logo inside. The controller will be sold both as part of the collection and on its own.
The console and controller will be available together as a limited edition collection in select markets in November, with the controller also offered separately. XBOX says pricing and preorder details for select retailers will follow soon.
