Microsoft has confirmed that the Xbox One won’t launch in 21 markets as originally planned. Instead, the company has revealed that the Xbox One launch markets are now down to 13: Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Spain, United Kingdom, United States, and New Zealand. The countries no longer part of the Xbox One launch markets are: Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Sweden, and Switzerland. The team will continue to work hard to bring the system to those eight countries as soon as possible in 2014.
To compensate all the disappointed players in the affected regions, Microsoft has promised “a pack-in game with your console when it launches.” The company didn’t go into details as to what title will be included, and has asked those customers to follow up with their local retailer where they placed their pre-orders for more information closer to launch.
