Along with announcing the second wave of titles coming to Game Pass this month, Xbox has revealed its May 2025 updates, which include Retro Classics games for Game Pass members, a new streaming option for PC users, Game Bar quick settings, visual updates for widgets, and more. For most gamers, the most exciting addition is the launch of Retro Classics, which is a collaboration between Xbox and Antstream Arcade. Available to Game Pass members worldwide, Retro Classics currently features over 50 classic Activision titles from the ’80s and ’90s, including Commando, Grand Prix, Kaboom!, MechWarrior 2: 31st Century Combat, and Pitfall! The service plans to eventually expand to over 100 titles over time.
This month, PC gamers will see Game Bar updates, including a revamped Settings widget with quick-access controls and visual refreshes for the built-in widgets. Players can now quickly access a list of quick settings to adjust audio levels, screen brightness, show a virtual keyboard, toggle Compact Mode, manage connected devices, and more. Microsoft Edge Game Assist, an in-game browser built specifically for players, will launch soon. The feature adds tips, walkthroughs, playlists, and sites like Discord, Spotify, and Twitch right into their game.
Another exciting addition is the GeForce Now streaming option in the Xbox app for participating titles. So players are able to select their preferred streaming platform for gameplay, whether it’s Xbox Cloud Gaming or GeForce Now. Finally, users who have stocked up on Rewards points can now redeem them for Xbox gift cards in any custom amount in the Rewards hub.
Last November, Xbox announced a feature allowing users to stream their own games. The service continues to expand its Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) library, and as of today over 100 cloud-playable games are supported, with more on the way. Here’s the list that Xbox had to share:
