Xbox has shared January’s update, announcing that the Xbox PC app is expanding support to Arm-based Windows 11 PCs. This means users can download titles from the Xbox PC app catalog and play them locally on Arm-based Windows 11 PCs, including all the titles offered through Game Pass. According to Xbox, more than 85 percent of the Game Pass catalog is compatible with Arm-based PCs, and the team is actively working with partners to expand support. If a game doesn’t run locally, Xbox Cloud Gaming serves as a substitute.

Another update adds a much-requested feature. The Xbox app has added a Game Save Sync Indicator, which gives real-time visibility into the status of a cloud save. This way, users always know whether gameplay progress is synced. It was a complaint I had when reviewing the ROG Xbox Ally X handheld, as I ran into weird sync issues with my PC.

Next, Xbox Cloud Gaming is heading to select Hisense and V homeOS smart TVs. This announcement actually came during CES 2026, which means more people will get access to the Xbox platform through their TV. This is all part of the “This Is an Xbox” campaign that kicked off in 2024, which brings Xbox Cloud Gaming to a wide range of devices, including cars.

Lastly, Xbox shared a few games that have been added to the handheld compatibility program, which is designed to give users an idea of how well games are optimized for handheld play.
