Wolfenstein: The New Order will be released on May 20, 2014 and for those that are hardcore fans, you can get a limited Panzerhund Edition for $100.00 but it doesn’t include a copy of the game. Wait, what? As crazy as that sounds, that’s exactly what Bethesda has announced as the Wolfenstein: The New Order Panzerhund Edition will be limited to just 5,000 numbered units and comes in a vintage footlocker-style box that measures in at approximately 20″ x 10.5″ by 8.5″. Each box will be stamped with a number plate right above the antiquated clasp, and inside will be a classified folder containing 11 documents: an assortment of maps, case files and even an x-ray.
The most appealing feature of the Panzerhund Edition is the 8″ articulated Panzerhund statue, made from PVC and ABS and is hand painted with a base. There is also an exclusive Steelbook and a set of 14 full-color weathered-looking postcards featuring the game’s alternate history, all bound in a display book. Underneath the velvet-lined tray are three embroidered patches and a box containing custom molded replica dog tags.
But again, the collector’s edition doesn’t come with a copy of the game, so you’ll have to buy that separately.
