Bethesda Softworks has released a new trailer for Wolfenstein: The New Order, showing off the game’s heroes and villains. Wolfenstein: The New Order is bringing back the franchise that is widely considered the pioneer for first-person shooter games. The new game will be set in the 1960s, when the Nazi regime has used mysterious advanced technology to win World War II. With the Nazis ruling the world with an iron fist, players will romp across Europe hoping to bring down the Nazi war machine.

Wolfenstein: The New Order will be released on May 20, 2014 in North America for the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PC. Europeans will get access to the game on May 23.

What was arguably more exciting from today’s trailer and announcement is that Doom 4 is in development and those that pre-order Wolfenstein: The New Order will get beta access to it. According to the website, there is no date set for the Doom beta, but we expect more news on the upcoming Doom game at QuakeCon this year.
