The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt‘s first official expansion, Hearts of Stone, will launch October 13 and CD Projekt Red has released its launch trailer. Featuring over 10 hours of new adventures, Hearts of Stone introduces new characters, powerful monsters, unique romance and a brand new storyline shaped by gamer choices. The expansion also introduces a brand new system of Runewords that significantly affects gameplay with each Runeword impacting a different aspect of in-game mechanics and will allow the player to experiment with various strategies and tactics.

“Step again into the shoes of Geralt of Rivia, a professional monster slayer, this time hired to defeat a ruthless bandit captain, Olgierd von Everec, a man who possesses the power of immortality,” CD Projekt Red described in a release. “The expansion lets you choose your own way through an adventure that includes recruiting a crew of break-in artists, spending a night partying with a ghost and outsmarting the most bizarre creatures Geralt has ever faced.”
The expansion is priced at $9.99, but a boxed edition will be available in limited numbers at retailers for $19.99. The extra $10.00 gets you two crafted physical decks of Gwent and a detailed manual explaining the rules, in addition to a digital download code.
