Last year was outstanding for fighting game enthusiasts with the releases of Street Fighter 6 (review), Mortal Kombat 1, and Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising. While we won’t get as many sequels to beloved franchises this year, we are getting the next entry in the Tekken series: Tekken 8. Slated for release on January 26, 2024, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, Tekken 8 follows suit with other major fighting games in announcing its first wave of DLC.

Bandai Namco revealed the opening movie for Tekken 8, and at the video’s end, it announces that Tekken 3’s Eddy Gordo will be included in the first round of DLC content, expected in spring 2024. In addition, three other yet-to-be-revealed characters will be included in Season 1.

The storyline of Tekken 8 unfolds six months after the events of Tekken 7, marking the conclusion of the ongoing Mishima saga. It will focus on a final battle between characters Kazuya Mishima and Jin Kazama.
