Bandai Namco has finally given Tekken 8 a release date and it’s set for January 26, 2024. Revealed at Gamescom Opening Night Live, the new trailer also revealed details for the game’s single-player mode that is heavily influenced by the old school days of hanging out at arcades, where gamers played against friends and strangers. The mode is called Arcade Quest and has players going through a new story mode, allowing them to dress up the characters for fun interactions. We personally love this recent trend of fighting games including a virtual arcade where players can hang out and socialize — one such feature is in Street Fighter 6.

The new trailer confirms there will be 32 characters in the roster, and players should expect DLC characters down the road after the game releases early next year. Originally announced in 2022, Tekken 8 is actually the 10th overall entry in the series and marks the return of Jun Kazama, Jin’s mother.
