Persona 3 Reload is one of my most anticipated games of 2024, and its release is now less than a month away. The original Persona 3 was my introduction to the series and a major reason why I love the franchise. To this day, it remains my favorite, with its grounded characters and darker story, despite its dated mechanics and gameplay. The remake infuses the game with a similar style and flair that made Persona 5 so popular. Along with the right quality-of-life improvements, Persona 3 Reload has the potential to be one of the best RPGs ever made.
For those who learned about the Persona series with Persona 5, I highly recommend experiencing Persona 3 Reload—assuming the remake isn’t a disaster. However, given Atlus and P Studio’s recent track record, I expect Persona 3 Reload to be mostly on point. While there may be some changes not everyone agrees with, if the game retains the original’s essence in terms of story and characters, I’m confident it’ll be a winner.
