Final Fantasy XIV is celebrating the 10th anniversary of A Realm Reborn’s release — not the original game’s release, no one talks about the original game’s release — and the team behind the MMORPG has shared an entertaining video starring the voice actors of Estinien (Robert Vernon), Thancred (Peter Bramhill), Alisaie (Bethan Walker), and Alphinaud (Colin Ryan). The four Scions (ahem, former Scions) are tasked with recreating the 8th Birthday Cake that was made by Bake-off star Kim-Joy in 2021, and the results are nothing short of amazing.
Fittingly, Alisaie and Alphinaud’s creation resembles a Porxie more than a Moogle, and it’s clear that none of the four are familiar with what a Spriggan looks like. As Square Enix puts it, “They may be mentors in [the] voice booth, but they’re sprouts in the kitchen!”
Final Fantasy XIV is currently readying its next major expansion, Dawntrail, which is slated to release sometime in summer 2024. It was revealed at the Las Vegas Fan Festival in late July, and marks the start of an all-new story arc now that the Hydaelyn and Zodiark saga concluded with Endwalker. The team at Creative Business Unit III is focused on giving our Warriors of Light a fitting vacation after saving the world, but Final Fantasy XIV players know better and expect some sort of twist.
