When you have a game as popular and memorable as Castle Crashers, it doesn’t really matter if you release DLC for it nearly 12 years after its initial launch. That’s exactly what The Behemoth is doing by announcing Castle Crashers Painter Boss Paradise today, a paid DLC that includes Steam workshop capabilities, a new official character, and new player and weapon artwork for all playable characters.

The major feature of the DLC allows players to design their own characters for Castle Crashers using Steam workshop. In addition, there’s Paint Junior, a new playable character that the developers describe as someone who can “vanquish enemies with the power of their imagination.” Unfortunately, no release date for the Castle Crashers Painter Boss Paradise DLC was announced.

The Behemoth also shared updates on its other titles, with BattleBlock Theater slated to receive a quality-of-life update addressing visuals, frame rates, and various bug fixes. Pit People is also scheduled to get a quality-of-life update, while Alien Hominid HD and Alien Hominid Invasion are heading to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
