Earlier this month, Vampire Survivors announced it would finally add online co-op with version 1.14, and that patch is now live. We spent some time checking out online co-op through the public beta branch and had a great time with it before Megabonk consumed our lives. But now that Vampire Survivors 1.14 is live, we may go back to some 2D survivors goodness. Along with online co-op, today’s update adds Ante Chamber, a little expansion based on Balatro, with four characters, four weapons with their respective evolutions, a new stage, and a remix of the Balatro main theme. There’s also a new game mechanic called Survarots, which is available in the base game and alters character stats and abilities.
Today’s update also includes two new themed stages, Westwoods and Mazerella, as well as a new relic that lets you play Party Mode (up to four characters at the same time). There are two new playable characters, two new weapons with their respective evolutions, one new character morph, one new powerup, and three new Darkanas. As for the Survarots, they’re a new form of power creep that are usable by Secretino and all the Ante Chamber characters. They’re somewhat like Arcana cards but are themed after characters from Vampire Survivors and offer different bonuses.
The Vampire Survivors: Ode to Castlevania expansion also receives an update today with additional content. A total of 16 new secret characters have been added, along with three new weapons and their evolutions, 13 new weapon unions, one new adventure, and a dozen new music tracks.
While version 1.14 is available on PC and PlayStation today, Switch and Xbox owners have to wait until October 31. All the new content is available today on mobile, but online co-op will arrive in November.
