Ubisoft has announced that its Uplay Passport program will no longer be part of any future Ubisoft games. In addition, Ubisoft has announced that every copy of Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag will include the Uplay Passport code needed to unlock all the online features for the game at no additional cost. The company has listened to its fans, that were clearly annoyed by the fact that certain online multiplayer features, such as the Edward’s Fleet companion app, and other available bonus content would come at an additional fee. No more, says Ubisoft.

According to the blog post on the Ubiblog, gamers currently without a Uplay Passport for Black Flag will be able to download one for free from Xbox Live or the PlayStation Network, and those that have already paid for one will receive a refund by contacting their regional Ubisoft support.

Originally created to give customers full access and support for online multiplayer and features, along with exclusive content, bonuses and rewards, the Uplay Passport program hasn’t made many fans.
