Given how well received Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter was when it launched in September 2025, it was always expected that its sequel would also get the same remake treatment. Nihon Falcom has now confirmed as much, with Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter getting a fall 2026 release window on PlayStation 5, Switch, Switch 2, and PC. Those who carry over their clear data from the first game will get bonus items to kickstart their journey in the sequel.

Like the first game, Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter will get new additions that expand combat and gameplay. New Crafts and S-Crafts are being added, along with a new Brave Rush feature that allows players to link their characters’ attacks during Quick Battles. Those who never played the original can also look forward to minigames like fishing and poker.

Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter sees Joshua mysteriously leaving on the eve of the Queen’s Birthday Festival with a brief farewell: “Goodbye, Estelle.” The second game in the series has Estelle embarking on a journey across continents, determined to find her partner.
