Circana, which was formerly known as IRI and the NPD Group, is a market research and technology company. Each month, Circana shares a list of the top 10 selling video games in the U.S., compiling data that includes both retail and digital sales. Despite launching on the last day of the month, Monster Hunter Wilds tops the chart for February. It’s mostly unsurprising, though, considering Capcom confirmed that the latest entry in the long-running franchise became the fastest-selling title in the developer’s history with over eight million units in just three days.
Check out the top 10 best-selling video games (retail and digital) for February 2025 below.
10. Madden NFL 25

There’s a reason EA has been so successful over the years, and it’s mainly due to its sports games. Madden has been a staple for decades, so it’s honestly no surprise to see Madden NFL 25 on the list, especially since Super Bowl LIX was on February 9.
9. Grand Theft Auto V

It’s truly amazing how Grand Theft Auto V continues to be one of the best-selling games despite originally launching in 2013. Some people may not even remember that the title was originally launched during the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 era. Its long run of dominating sales charts will soon come to an end though, as Grand Theft Auto VI is set to launch this Fall on consoles. PC players, meanwhile, can enjoy a free upgrade for Grand Theft Auto V.
8. Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii

Released on February 21, 2025, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii had a solid launch and shows just how far the franchise has come since it was called Yakuza. The latest entry in the Like a Dragon series is an over-the-top pirate adventure starring former yakuza Goro Majima, who has lost his memory and decides he would rather be a pirate.
7. Avowed

Although it is available to Game Pass subscribers, Avowed has still sold very well following its February 18 launch. The first-person fantasy RPG comes from Obsidian Entertainment and is set in the same universe as the Pillars of Eternity franchise.
6. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

Call of Duty will always be a sales behemoth, no matter how many people complain about the franchise. The latest entry, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, is still selling well. It originally launched in October 2024 and brought back the popular Round-Based Zombies mode.
5. NBA 2K25

Another sports title on the list: this time it’s NBA 2K25. Widely considered the most popular basketball game, the latest entry allows players to take on the court through various modes, including MyCAREER, MyTEAM, MyNBA, and The W.
4. PGA Tour 2K25

It might come as a surprise to some, but PGA Tour 2K25 is another extremely successful sports franchise for 2K. Another title that was released towards the end of the month on February 27, PGA Tour 2K25 features three prestigious majors: The PGA Championship, The U.S. Open, and The Open Championship.
3. Sid Meier’s Civilization VII

The seventh entry in the Sid Meier’s Civilization franchise launched on February 10, and despite mixed reviews on Steam, it’s still one of February’s top-selling games. Really, it’s no surprise, as the franchise has established a massive player base over the past three decades.
2. Kingdom Come: Deliverance II

Many are touting Kingdom Come: Deliverance II as one of the best games of this year, and clearly, the sales data backs that up. The sequel was released on February 4 as a story-driven action RPG set in 15th-century Medieval Europe. It puts players in the shoes of Henry of Skalitz, who is on a journey to avenge his murdered parents.
1. Monster Hunter Wilds

Monster Hunter Wilds is officially Capcom’s fastest-selling game ever, having sold over eight million units in its first three days. According to Circana, it’s also the top-selling game of the year so far. In our Monster Hunter Wilds review, we criticized the game for its performance on PC and its bland story, but we praised it for its familiar yet fresh gameplay. I’ve sunk over 100 hours into Monster Hunter Wilds and I look forward to the game’s upcoming updates to spend many more.
