Universal Studios Japan is now ready to showcase Donkey Kong Country at Super Nintendo World. The Super Nintendo Direct will take place on November 11 at 2:00pm Pacific (5:00pm Eastern) and will be roughly 10 minutes long. The highlight of the new section of the park is Mine-Cart Madness, where guests hop into a mine cart and venture through the jungle to help Donkey and Diddy Kong protect the golden banana. It’s a family coaster that features innovative technology to deliver a unique experience, such as being blasted out of a barrel and jumping over gaps.
First announced late last year and initially scheduled to open in spring 2024, Donkey Kong Country was delayed in April, with confirmation that it would open sometime in the second half of 2024. It looks like we’ll get an opening date tomorrow for the new park expansion. Hopefully, it will be open by January 2025, as we’ll be visiting Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan to celebrate the New Year.
