The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt‘s first expansion, Hearts of Stone, will be released on October 13 CD Projekt Red has announced. In Hearts of Stone, players will once again step into the shoes of Geralt of Rivia, who has now been hired to defeat a ruthless bandit captain, Olgierd von Everec. Defeating Olgierd von Everec won’t be an easy task as he possesses the power of immortality. The expansion will allow players to choose their own path with options ranging from recruiting a crew of break-in artists to spending a night partying with a ghost and outsmarting the most bizarre creatures Geralt has ever faced.

According to CD Projekt Red, Hearts of Stone packs over 10 hours of adventures filled with new characters, powerful monsters, unique romance and a brand new storyline shaped by player choices. The expansion will also include a brand new system of Runewords that significantly affects gameplay.
The expansion will be priced at $9.99 and will be have both a digital and physical release. The boxed edition will be limited at select retailers worldwide, priced at $19.99 and contains a digital download code, two crafted physical decks of Gwent and a detailed manual explaining the rules. Those that have the digital Expansion Pass will be able to purchase the cards separately.
