Today’s Nintendo Switch 2 Direct was full of surprises, but one of the biggest was the announcement of a new FromSoftware game titled The Duskbloods. It’s a multiplayer title that will be exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026, although it’s unclear if it has timed exclusivity. Directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, we will learn more about The Duskbloods in an upcoming developer diary series, Creator’s Voice, on April 4. For now, a press release confirms the game is a PvPvE title built around online multiplayer with up to eight players. Players take on the role of the Bloodsworn, a group that has transcended human strength because of their special blood, and they’ll throw themselves into a violent fray called First Blood.
FromSoftware fans are already calling The Duskbloods a spiritual successor to Bloodborne, though it is clearly not a single-player experience. In fact, The Duskbloods is probably going to have more in common with the upcoming Elden Ring Nightreign than it will with Bloodborne. Speaking of Elden Ring, FromSoftware also announced Elden Ring Tarnished Edition for Nintendo Switch 2, set to launch sometime this year. It will include the base game, the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, new weapons, armor, a new Torrent appearance customization, and more. Unfortunately, with the growing popularity of the Steam Deck and other handheld PCs, the novelty of playing Elden Ring on a handheld has diminished a bit, but it is still a great addition to the Switch 2’s library.
