It feels like it was just yesterday that The Super Mario Bros. Movie debuted its final trailer before going on to make over $1 billion at the box office. Now, we’re just months away from its sequel, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, and we’ll be getting another look at it on January 25 at 6:00 AM Pacific (9:00 AM Eastern). Nintendo and Illumination shared the movie’s first trailer in November 2025, confirming Rosalina (Brie Larson) and Bowser Jr. (Benny Safdie) as new characters, joining Mario (Chris Pratt), Luigi (Charlie Day), Princess Peach (Anya Taylor-Joy), Bowser (Jack Black), Toad (Keegan-Michael Key), and Kamek (Kevin Michael Richardson).

Many expect Yoshi to finally make its debut at The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Direct on January 25, after a Pillsbury listing for cookies shaped like Yoshi eggs accidentally leaked on a supermarket website. Other than that, it’s pretty much anyone’s guess what will show up in the new trailer. All we can see from the current video thumbnail is Mario and Luigi, both in Fire Flower form.

Nintendo, as usual, included its disclaimer that no game information will be included in the presentation, so it’ll be strictly focused on the movie.
