Developer Evil Empire announced today that The Rogue Prince of Persia is exiting Early Access. The action-platformer roguelite is published by Ubisoft and officially part of the Prince of Persia series, blending the acrobatic gameplay you’d expect with modern roguelite elements. In The Rogue Prince of Persia, players try to reshape the legend of a Prince spared from death. After a fatal mistake that doomed his people, the Prince sets out to right his wrongs. Each failure grants an opportunity to explore different paths, find secrets, and discover new characters. Think Hades, but as a 2D platformer.

Since it’s a Prince of Persia title, agility and swift movement are core pillars of the game. From bouncing off walls to dodging traps, players navigate a crafted 2D world with access to over 100 unique weapons and medallions. The game encourages players to find broken builds, as each run is truly unique with procedurally generated levels, meta-progression, difficulty modifiers, and random events.

The game originally entered Early Access on May 27, 2024, after the developer delayed its Early Access launch in response to Hades II’s surprise May 6 drop.
