Silent Hill: The Short Message is available for free, starting today

Konami made a surprise announcement during today’s State of Play, revealing Silent Hill: The Short Message. The game is available starting today and is free to play. The developer also showcased the upcoming Silent Hill 2 Remake, currently in development for PlayStation 5, with a combat reveal trailer. Watch both Silent Hill trailers below.

As a new, short-form Silent Hill title, Silent Hill: The Short Message marks the first in a new wave of games contributing to the Silent Hill series revival. According to Konami, the game started out as an experimental project and the company partnered with Hexadrive to bring everything together. Being an experimental title, the team planned from the outset for it to be a free release.

With Silent Hill: The Short Message, the goal was to create a modern Silent Hill experience, which meant incorporating a young protagonist dealing with contemporary problems. As a result, Silent Hill: The Short Message introduces a young protagonist dealing with contemporary issues.
