Viewership of The Game Awards 2023 was up 15% year-over-year

The Game Awards 2023 was packed full of trailers, world premieres, celebrities, advertisements, and short speeches. This year’s show set a new record for The Game Awards, with over 118 million global livestreams. This marks an increase of 15 percent year-over-year. These numbers not only are impressive but also highlight the significant growth of the video game industry over the last decade since the start of The Game Awards.

Since the show, there has been plenty of feedback on the limited time award winners were given to deliver their speeches. Many critics of The Game Awards 2023 argue that it overly prioritized trailers, advertisements, and celebrity appearances, while not allowing enough time for developers and voice actors on stage.
