The Day Before, once the most wishlisted game on Steam, is now completely shutting down less than two months after its Early Access launch. The official shutdown isn’t a surprise, considering the studio behind the game has already closed its doors. According to a post on social media, The Day Before will be retired and the servers will be turned off on January 22, 2024. Anyone who purchased the game can receive a refund, regardless of time played.

It will be very interesting to see if the real story behind The Day Before ever gets revealed. For now, it will more than likely go down as one of the biggest scams in video game history.

Dear Community,

We regret to inform you that the development company Fntastic has officially ceased operations, and as a result The Day Before will be retired and the servers will be turned off on 22 January 2024.

As previously communicated, Mytona, as the investor, has been working in collaboration with Steam to facilitate refunds for all game purchasers. For any players that have not already had their purchase refunded, Steam will now proactively refund all remaining players.

We extend our gratitude for the community’s support throughout the project’s life. Unfortunately, without a development team, we had no alternative choice but to officially close the project.

We sincerely thank all our supporters throughout this journey and wish you all a happy holiday season.
