In a surprise shadow drop, the Game of the Year from The Game Awards 2023 is now available on Xbox Series X|S. Interestingly, the release wasn’t announced during the show but was instead revealed in a tweet from Larian Studios, which included a link to the Xbox store listing priced at $69.99.

Baldur’s Gate 3 was first released on PC before heading to PlayStation 5. Its delay on Xbox Series X|S was due to complications getting the game to run well on the Series S console. Eventually, Larian Studios collaborated with Phil Spencer from Xbox to find a solution, leading to the decision that the Series S version would not feature split-screen co-op at launch.

Baldur’s Gate 3 was one of the most impressive games I’ve played in years and I found the deep, sprawling, and complex RPG to be as captivating as it is memorable.
