Paramount Pictures and Legendary Entertainment have announced a new multiyear worldwide film distribution deal, and Legendary’s first film under the deal will be Street Fighter. The film is currently in production, co-produced by Capcom, and is headed to theaters on October 16, 2026. To mark the announcement, the cast was also confirmed, along with a short synopsis.
“Set in 1993, estranged Street Fighters Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo) are thrown back into combat when the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament: a brutal clash of fists, fate, and fury. It feels like the 1990s all over again, with both Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat getting big-screen adaptations. Mortal Kombat II, starring Karl Urban as Johnny Cage, was originally set to launch in theaters on October 24, 2025, but was recently moved to May 15, 2026. Some rivalries never die, with Street Fighter vs. Mortal Kombat continuing to battle across media decades later.
