A celebration of upcoming games, Steam’s Next Fest 2024 is now live, allowing you to play free demos for dozens of titles. The event runs until February 12, 10:00 am Pacific (1:00 pm Eastern), and will also feature developer livestreams, providing insights into specific games. The schedule for developer streams is packed throughout the week, and you can view it here.

We’ve already spent some time with Stormgate, but there are plenty of other games we hope to check out over the week. Here’s our shortlist, which includes one of our most anticipated games of the year, Homeworld 3.

  • Stormgate – “Stormgate is a next-gen real-time strategy game set in a new science fantasy universe. Command mechs to defend the Earth or invade it as the Infernals. Explore an ever-evolving campaign, group up for 3P co-op vs. AI, compete in 1v1 or 3v3, or get creative in the editor. Welcome to the future of RTS!”
  • Homeworld 3 – “Tactical, beautiful, and wholly unique, the GOTY-winning sci-fi RTS returns with Homeworld 3. Assume control and battle through fleet combat in dazzling, fully 3D space while the award-winning story unfolds on a galactic scale.”
  • Pacific Drive – “Face the supernatural dangers of the Olympic Exclusion Zone with a car as your only lifeline in this driving survival adventure! Scavenge resources, load up your trusty station wagon, and drive like hell to make it through alive.”
  • Rotwood – “Rotwood is a 1-4 player hack-and-slash dungeon crawler by the makers of Don’t Starve and Mark of the Ninja. Battle corrupted beasts, gather what remains, and forge a safe haven with your friends.”
  • Omega Crafter – “Adventure in a vast open-world survival craft game with your programmable sidekick Grammi! Program the Grammi to collect materials, build your town, craft weapons and armor to challenge strong enemies! Play alone or with friends online!”
  • Oddsparks: An Automation Adventure – “Design automated workshops for your odd and adorable Sparks to carry and craft everything, including more of themselves! Lead your squad of Sparks into combat. Explore a strange fantasy world, in single player or online co-op. Unearth the ancient mystery of the Sparks!”
  • Epic Auto Towers – “Epic Auto Towers is a turn-based strategy game combining elements of autobattler, deckbuilder and roguelike. Purchase uncommon and rare Towers and build the strongest combo to withstand the monster assault! Discover unusual new Tower combinations as you come back for more.”
  • Emberward – “Build twisting mazes with tetromino blocks and deploy unique towers in this engaging roguelite tower defense game!”
  • Entropy Survivors – “Entropy Survivors is a bullet hell roguelike where you simultaneously control a powerful mech and a sharpshooting space frog, featuring outrageously creative abilities and powerful weapon customization. Save the universe in single player or 2-4 player online co-op!”
  • Lightyear Frontier – “Lightyear Frontier is a peaceful open-world farming adventure on a planet at the far edge of the galaxy. Climb into your versatile mech and start your new home on a distant planet with up to 3 friends as you farm alien crops, build your own homestead, and explore the untamed wilderness of the world.”
