According to a recent tweet from Steam DB, the Steam Controller is getting another overhaul. In late May, Valve confirmed that the Steam Controller would be delayed until 2015 as the company continued to receive feedback from its beta testers. The latest official Steam Controller design was revealed in March and it appears that Valve will be getting rid of the traditional four-directional d-pad in exchange for an analog joystick… at least for the next phase of testing.
We’ll treat this as a rumor until Steam confirms the changes as it’s currently unclear whether this is just a render or Steam is officially building a prototype.
