Valve has decided to push the release window for its Steam Controller to next year, according to a blog post on Steam Community. The company has been receiving “a ton of useful feedback,” from its beta testers, which range from industry professionals to die-hard gamers to casual gamers, and as a result has decided to be more realistic about the controller’s release. It is unlikely now that the Steam Controller will be available this year as Valve continues to make improvements to its design.

The Steam Controller has already gone several major revisions, with the first beta Steam Machines and Steam Controllers shipping out late last year in December. In March, Valve revealed the latest iteration of its Steam Controller, which added two diamond-patterned button layouts instead of the original touch screen display.
