StarCraft II and its first expansion, Heart of the Swarm, are now both available for $19.99 each. StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty was originally released on July 27, 2010 and is only available on the PC and Mac platforms. Wings of Liberty‘s campaign centered around the return of Jim Raynor and the Terrans while Heart of the Swarm focused on Kerrigan and the Zerg. Heart of the Swarm was originally released on March 12, 2013.
The price discount is likely leading up to an official announcement on the development of StarCraft II‘s third expansion, Legacy of the Void which will put the attention on the Protoss race. Blizzard has been relatively quiet on the development of Legacy of the Void, but we expect plenty of details to spill out at this year’s BlizzCon. Now is a good chance to experience the campaigns from StarCraft II and Heart of the Swarm if you haven’t done so yet and you’re a fan of RTS games.
