Crafting survival game Soulmask is officially leaving Early Access on April 10, and developer CampFire Studio is celebrating the milestone with a pretty nice offer. The game’s brand-new Ancient Egypt expansion, Shifting Sands, will be free to claim for a full month, from April 10 to May 10. After that window closes, the DLC will be available separately for $19.99.

I shared my first impressions of Soulmask back when it entered Early Access and compared it to Conan Exiles, noting that despite the usual crafting survival jankiness, it had a solid foundation with its mask mechanic and NPC tribesman system. Since then, CampFire Studio has added over 1,800 content updates, which is a staggering number for an Early Access period.

Soulmask 1.0 will launch on Steam and Epic Games Store for $29.99, which is the same price it was during Early Access. Along with the free expansion, there’s also a 10 percent launch discount available until April 24.

The 1.0 update introduces improved tutorials, better early-game pacing, three distinct game modes, an expanded NPC system, and various quality-of-life improvements. As for the Shifting Sands expansion, it nearly doubles the size of the game world with a new Ancient Egypt-inspired realm featuring deserts, river deltas, ancient ruins, and pyramids. The standout feature is a new ship-based gameplay system that lets players build and customize vessels that serve as mobile bases, eventually upgrading them into flying fortresses. The expansion also adds four Egyptian god-themed masks with unique abilities and new character creation options.
