Today, October 25, is the official release day for Sonic X Shadow Generations, and already the game has sold over one million units worldwide. The title combines two games: a remaster of Sonic Generations and Shadow Generations, which is a completely new story campaign focused on Shadow. The two titular characters are off on separate adventures because a mysterious creature called the Time Eater has created distortions in time and space.

Sonic and his friends have been enjoying a lot of success in recent years, and SEGA has no plans to stop anytime soon. A new mobile game from Rovio, Sonic Rumble, is set to launch this winter. The Knuckles show is already streaming on Paramount+, and fans can look forward to the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie this December, which will also feature Shadow, played by Keanu Reeves.
