Spoiler alert. At the end of Sonic the Hedgehog 3, there’s a post-credits scene that teases Amy Rose. Her appearance really isn’t a surprise, considering the movies have now added Tails, Knuckles, and Shadow to the cast. It was pretty much inevitable that Amy Rose would join as well. In that post-credits scene, though, she did not say anything, and it turns out that her voice had not been cast yet. Well, that honor now goes to Kristen Bell, who has voiced several iconic characters in film history, including Anna in Frozen.

The news is confirmed by Ben Schwartz, the Head of Sequels at Obsidian Entertainment. Sorry, I mean, the actor behind the voice of Sonic in the movies. He posted a photo on Instagram of Bell and himself, holding figurines of their respective characters. Bell joins a cast that already includes Keanu Reeves as Shadow, Idris Elba as Knuckles, and Colleen O’Shaughnessy as Tails. Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters on March 19, 2027.

It is almost crazy to think how far the Sonic the Hedgehog movies have come since their disastrous initial debut, which now lives on in infamy thanks to Ugly Sonic’s appearance in Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers. Somewhere, there is a timeline where the original movie didn’t get redone, completely flopped, and we never got the great sequels we now have. In fact, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 did so well that it’s in second place among game films, behind The Super Mario Bros. Movie. It’ll likely fall to the third spot, though, considering The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is around the corner on April 1.
