The RetroN 5 console from Hyperkin is now available for pre order from Amazon for $99.99. Available in either black or gray, the RetroN 5 plays games from the following systems: Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), Sega Genesis, Mega Drive, Famicom, Super Famicom, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance.
Built into each console are two controller ports and the system will ship with one wireless universal controller. The RetroN 5 actually outputs in HDMI and upscales it for HDTVs while the system also features a user interface and save states. Every game ever made for those classic systems are supported according to Hyperkin, and there’s no lag to play any of those games.
Amazon is reporting that the RetroN 5 will be shipping on October 31, 2013. Quantities for the system are expected to be limited, so if you’ve been waiting for its release, now’s the time to get your pre order in.
