Sony has announced the PS Vita 3.00 system update, which will add the new application called PS4 Link which will allow the PlayStation Vita to connect to the PlayStation 4 for Remote Play and Second Screen capabilities.
The PS4 Link application will be added to the PS Vita’s homescreen as part of the PS Vita 3.00 system update, allowing you to play a range of PS4 games on your PS Vita. Also, when you’re playing a PS4 game that supports second screen features, you can also display that info on your PS Vita and use it as a second screen.
Also joining the PS Vita 3.00 system update is the parental controls application that will allow parents to manage the duration of game play and the use of games and videos. A Panoramic Camera setting has been added to the photos application while the application layout for the Friends application has been improved. Other social features have been tweaked including messages, party and email.
The PS Vita 3.00 system update will also allow you to use your WiFi connection to connect your PS Vita to a PS3 in order to manage your content and transfer data between the two. You will also be able to download future system updates automatically to your PS Vita.
Since the PS4 Link will be added, the current Remote Play application that works with the PS3 will be renamed PS3 Remote Play.
The PS Vita 3.00 system update joins the recently released PS3 4.5 system update.
