A year after its announcement, Pokémon Legends: Z‑A shares a new extended look at the upcoming game. Confirmed to be released in late 2025, Pokémon Legends: Z‑A takes place in Lumoise City, where players will stay at Hotel Z. There, players will meet the hotel’s owner, AZ, and his partner, Floette, as well as a friend who lives and works at Hotel Z. That friend will be either Urbain or Taunie, depending on the player’s gender. As for the starter Pokémon for Pokémon Legends: Z-A, players will choose from Chikorita, Tepig, or Totodile.

Other notable characters introduced in the new video are Jett, the CEO of Quasartico Inc., which is the corporation driving Lumoise’s urban redevelopment plans. She is accompanied by Vinnie, who is Jett’s secretary with a reputation for being a fast worker. The extended look also confirmed Mega Evolutions, with some examples including Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Mega Kangaskhan, Mega Ampharos, Mega Gardevoir, Mega Sableye, Mega Altaria, Mega Absol, and Mega Lucario.

There will also be changes to the game’s combat system, allowing players to dodge attacks with their Pokémon. Timing and positioning appear to be more important, further expanding on what was established in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
