Is this Sony’s take on Nintendogs? The company has announced PlayStation Vita Pets, which will bring virtual dogs to Sony’s portable gaming system. According to Sony, the title won’t simply be an ordinary pet sim game, but rather something that feels like a “real game” with characters, fun, and adventure. So what’s already different just by watching the trailer? The dogs talk.
That’s right, in the world of PlayStation Vita Pets, the dogs won’t be barking, but rather conversing in plain ‘ol English. In the game, you’ll be able to pick from four different puppies, each of which have their own personalities, sense of humor, and traits. Once you’re acclimated with your new best friend, you can venture off to Castlewood Island with your dog. That means you’ll be experiencing an adventure with your pet, exploring and solving puzzles while trying to get to the legendary castle at the center of the island.
PlayStation Vita Pets is being developed by the team at Spiral House in the UK. Spiral House has assisted on past titles such as MotorStorm and LittleBigPlanet and are the minds behind EyePet and EyePet Adventures for the Sony PSP. No release date has been announced for the game yet, but it will be arriving in Europe in 2014. No confirmation yet on whether or not it’ll make it to America, but it’s likely.
