Starting September 6, Sony is increasing the price of a 12-month subscription of PlayStation Plus. According to the company, the price adjustment is being done to enable Sony to “continue bringing high-quality games and value-added benefits” to the PlayStation Plus subscription service. Although the 12-month subscription is getting an increase, it’ll still be a discounted rate when compared to purchasing a 1-month or 3-month subscription over a 12-month period.
For current 12-month subscribers, the price increase will not take effect until your next renewal date that occurs on or after November 6. However, for users who decide to make membership changes on or after September 6 — upgrades, downgrades, or buying additional time — the plan will be updated to reflect new prices.
Fortunately, if you shop around, there are always PlayStation Plus membership discounts to be found. You can also stack years of membership at discounted rates.
