Fans of the Orcs Must Die! franchise can rejoice: Robot Entertainment has announced a new entry in the series: Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap. The bad news? It’s not slated to release until the first quarter of 2025. What we can look forward to, however, is four-player co-op, deeper progression systems, roguelite build options, expanded level variety, vast outdoor fantasy environments, spectacular physics with even more ridiculous orc deaths, and familiar third-person shooter and melee combat. As expected with a new entry, there will also be new weapons, abilities, and traps.

The game has a listing on Steam if you want to add it to your wishlist and check out its trailer. We can definitely see how roguelite elements could work with Orcs Must Die!’s gameplay loop, so we’re excited to see how they are implemented. The latest entry was Orcs Must Die! 3, which was released on PC in 2021. The game features a mix of third-person shooter and melee combat combined with strategic tower defense elements. We are huge fans of the franchise and have been playing it since the original, which will celebrate its 13th anniversary later this year.
